Charges of operating an illegal chop shop have been filed against a Salem Township man.
The Tribune-Review reports 31-year-old William Cochran of Salem Township was arraigned yesterday on charges of chop shop operation, theft, altering vehicle id numbers, receiving stolen property and other crimes. An investigation by police showed that Cochran was stealing trailers, altering the vehicle id, and painting them and installing new lights to avoid detection.
Williams is already in jail awaiting trial on felony drug counts for allegedly selling illegal drugs out of the Forbes Trail Trailer Park in one case and stealing an ATV, riding lawn tractors and lawnmowers from stores in Westmoreland County.
