Irwin Borough has approved their budget for next year, and that includes funding the local fire department.
The Tribune-Review reports that the department will receive $62,000 from the borough in 2019, along with payment of worker’s compensation premiums and insurance to cover property and belongings of the fire department. But, the money will be split into two payments: $38,500 in January to help make a payment of $15,000 for a fire truck, and the rest will come in June when the fire department submits its 2018 financial report.
The budget contains no tax increases for borough residents.
