In a game that each team needed to win to keep pace with the first place Hempfield Spartans (5-0, 9-1) in Class AAAA-Section 1, Penn-Trafford scored the first points of the game and never trailed.
Although Connellsville tied the game three times, they could never get that one extra point to boost them ahead of the Warriors.
Connellsville (3-2, 7-4) was led by 6’4” sophomore Jade Maher with 14 points while the Falcon’s leading scorer, 6’8” senior Paul Martin averaging 15.6 points per game, was held to just five shots and 4 points. Also, senior Adam Siecinski added 13 points.
Connellsville shot just 47 percent from the field overall and was only 7-20 from the foul line hitting just 35 percent of those shots.
Penn-Trafford (3-2, 7-4) was led by junior Andy Abreu with 15 points and Corey Stanford ...

This Friday Kiski Area travels to Hempfield for a Class AAAA, Section 1 match-up. The Spartans have a 3-0 conference record and is 7-1 over-all, while Kiski also is 3-0 in conference play, but is 7-2 over-all.
Hempfield’s only loss this season so far was to Greensburg Salem in the Greensburg Salem Holiday Tournament.
