Game Recap

Jeannette took advantage of excellent field position the entire night and used its defense to compliment the offense in an impressive 57-28 victory over Beaver Friday night at Fox Chapel Senior High School. With the win Jeannette will face number 1 seed Beaver Falls in the WPIAL semifinals, November 14th at Pine-Richland, in a rematch of last year’s WPIAL Championship game. Beaver started the scoring on a 10 play 69 yard drive capped by Jake Nardone’s 3 yard run to lead 7-0. Jeannette came back scoring 4 unanswered touchdowns to grab a 28-7 lead late in the first half. Scores by Dane Vaughan on a 29 yard run, Cameron Baradziej on a 1 yard plunge, Jordan Hall on a 2 yard run and Moziah Harris on a 93 yard pass gave the Hawks the 3 touchdown lead. Thom Anzio of Beaver scored on a 6 yard pass to cut the Jeannette lead to 28-14 at the end of the first half.
Jeannette extended their lead to 43-14 in the 3rd quarter on a 2 yard run by Jordan Hall, and Moziah Harris’ 49 yard interception return for a touchdown, but Beaver would not go away quietly. The Bobcats scored 2 touchdowns within 10 seconds of each other early in the 4th quarter to cut the Jeannette lead to 43-28. Jeannette added 2 more scores late in the contest on a 29 yard pass from Baradziej to James Derry, and Jordan Hall’s third touchdown of the night, a 49 yard fumble return with just :54 seconds left to play. Hall literally stole the football from Beaver tailback Jake Nardone to cap the scoring. Final Jeannette 57, Beaver 28.
