Construction at the new Latrobe Elementary School looks to be wrapping up soon, and it could open as soon as next month.
The Tribune-Review reports that contractors could be ready to spread new asphalt in the parking lot, and they will also need to make sure that the elevators and fire suppression systems pass inspections and acquire an occupancy permit.
The school at the corner of Cedar and Ligonier Streets was supposed to open August 3rd, just in time for the new school year, but because some materials did not arrive on time, the opening was pushed back, and elementary students are still using the old elementary school for now.
