Norwin School Board this week voted to hire a school police officer.
The Tribune-Review reports that the new officer, Jeffrey Pritts of Hempfield, is a retired Greensburg policeman who served the city for 26 years.
Pritts will have the authority to make arrests and issue citations on behalf of the district. He will be stationed at the high school, but will make visits to the other schools in the district.
