Westmoreland County’s Comprehensive Plan was unveiled yesterday.
The Tribune-Review reports that the plan is expected to guide local leaders on growing the population of their region over the next ten to 15 years. The plan identifies linking workers with employers; promoting arts, recreation and tourism; enhancing local towns; housing improvement; converting to a modern economy; and upgrading transportation as some of the key areas to focus on. One strategy would be to become a restaurant-centric area, another other would be to bring either a convention center or a multi-sport complex, and yet another would have the area become a hub for industrial hemp production.
Open house sessions will be held at The Palace Theater in Greensburg on November 1st at 10 AM and 6 PM.
