Yesterday, President Donald Trump and first lady Melania came to Squirrel Hill to pay his respects to those who died in the shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue.
The two entered the synagogue and lit candles for the victims, and also saw the makeshift memorials in front of the synagogue. The president then went to UPMC Presbyterian in Oakland to visit with first responders.
There were several protests going on around the president’s visit, including a rally and march for unity at Forbes Avenue and Beachwood Boulevard, where one arrest was reportedly made.
Robert Bowers, the man suspected of killing the 11 people in the synagogue, has been moved out of the Allegheny County Jail to a jail in Butler County.
The reason for his move has not been released due to safety concerns.
