Voter turnout is expected to be high in Westmoreland County for this upcoming general election on Tuesday.
The Tribune-Review reports election participation could be up to 55 percent of registered voters. Turnout for a similar election four years ago was 40 percent.
The activity increase could be a result of many people not satisfied with how things turned out after the presidential election two years ago.
Westmoreland County has also seen an uptick in voter registration, with more than 1,000 newly-registered voters. And more than 6,000 applications for absentee ballots were processed.
Election day is tomorrow.
