Testimony continued yesterday in the Melvin Knight re-sentencing hearing.
The Tribune-Review reports that yesterday’s testimony included details on the torture and killing of 30-year-old Jennifer Daugherty. After Daugherty died, Melvin and five others bound her body in Christmas lights, stuffed her in a neighbor’s garbage can and that can was left under a truck in a Greensburg parking lot.
Testimony is set to continue today with prosecutors seeking the death penalty once again, while the defense is seeking a life sentence, saying that Knight is mentally disabled and not eligible for the death penalty.
