An Irwin man is in jail facing charges of harassment.
Police in North Huntingdon Township say that over the weekend, 62-year-old Bernard J. Butler of Irwin, allegedly stalked an ex-girlfriend in the Clay Pike area, and tried to force his way into her home around 12:30 PM on Saturday. The victim said that a neighbor had confronted Butler during this incident, but Butler returned in a van later on and started throwing items into the front yard. When a male friend tried to intervene, Butler threatened to run him over with the van, and nearly did so, hitting the man in the leg. The man did not require medical treatment.
Butler was arraigned on Monday and remains in county prison in lieu of $5000 bail.
