Greensburg City Police have charged a former employee of a Greensburg convenience store with stealing from the store after hours.
Police say 43-year-old Aaron P. Payne allegedly went into the CoGo’s on East Pittsburgh Street on February 22nd after the store closed and took $443 from a filing cabinet, allegedly using an old work key to get into the building. On top of the burglary, theft and receiving stolen property charges in this incident, Payne was also charged with escape and resisting police for fleeing officers concerning a theft of some deli meats and cheeses from the Shop n Save in Greensburg.
A preliminary hearing is set for March 7th, and Payne is to be held in jail without bail.
