John Walton remains the warden of the Westmoreland County Prison after he was up for firing twice on Friday.
The Tribune-Review reports that Westmoreland County Commissioner Gina Cerilli, along with several current and former jail guards, demanded Walton be fired during a meeting of the prison board on Friday. Cerilli blames Walton for several incidents at the jail, and poor oversight and personnel decisions warranted his termination.
Both motions failed to gain the proper number of votes.
