A new initiative is underway to bring together Westmoreland County students and mental health resources.
The initiative, called Step Up Westmoreland, is designed to improve school safety while eliminating barriers for students to get mental health treatment that they may need. The collaborative initiative has been working for about six months and more than 130 students, therapists, educators and parents from across the county will be a part of a meeting on Thursday to learn more about the program.
