While many still have their Christmas trees up, those who have a live tree will be able to recycle them after the holidays are over.
The Tribune-Review reports that Westmoreland Cleanways and Recycling is setting up several “tree-cycling” sites around the county where trees can be dropped off for no charge. All decorations have to be removed from the tree, including any bag or wrapping used to transport the tree. Trees dropped off for recycling will chipped into mulch to be used to renew soil in greenspaces or enhance wildlife habitats.
