Greensburg Catholic Diocese Bishop Edward Malesic is back on the job on a reduced schedule after his mild heart attack two weeks ago.
The Tribune-Review reports that Malesic returned Tuesday after undergoing a cardiac catheterization procedure last Friday. Diocese spokesperson Jerry Zuffelt said that Malesic’s heart issue was an isolated event, and while Malesic was diagnosed with coronary artery disease, it can be treated with medicine.
This all stemmed from an incident over Thanksgiving weekend, when Malesic had chest pains and visited an out-of-town emergency room, where he was diagnosed with a mild heart attack.
