It looks like Westmoreland County Prison Warden John Walton’s job is safe, at least for the time being.
The Tribune Review reports that during yesterday’s prison board meeting, County Commissioner Gina Cerilli said there have been no new incidents since last month that would place the warden’s job in jeopardy. However, she says she will continue to monitor Walton’s job performance on a month-to-month basis.
The issue stems from Walton’s handling of a suspended guard who later committed suicide.
