If you are looking to get rid of your Christmas tree, Westmoreland Cleanways and Recycling has set up some tree recycling sites.
The annual program requires that all decorations be removed, along with any bags or covers used to transport the tree. Trees dropped off for recycling will be chipped into mulch and used for green spaces or to enhance wildlife habitats. Authorities say that one tree will produce five pounds of mulch.
A complete list of drop off sites can be found here. The dropoff sites are being operated free of charge.
