A staffer for a Westmoreland County Commissioner announced that he would like to become a commissioner himself.
The Tribune-Review reports that Sean Kertes, chief of staff to Commissioner Charles Anderson, formally announced on Wednesday that he will run for the position. This comes on the heels of Anderson’s announcement that he will not seek re-election and will retire after serving as a commissioner for 11 years.
Kertes has been chief of staff for Anderson since 2016 and also served as a deputy to County Treasurer Jared Squires. He said he will continue to focus on Anderson’s agenda, focusing on business and economic development.
