Water rates for customers of the county’s municipal authority will hold the line for the first time in four years.
The Tribune-Review reports that members of the Westmoreland County Municipal Authority Board approved a $110 million budget for the 2019-2020 fiscal year starting in April. The water rates will remain the same for the utility’s 120,000 customers.
The previous rate hikes were part of efforts to pay off debt associated with $150 million in loans for infrastructure upgrades.
The average water customer will pay roughly $46 a month.
