A Penn Township man was found not guilty to summary charges connected to a dog attack last year that injured a UPS Driver in Hempfield.
The Tribune-Review reports that Matthew Zavarella was accused of failing to keep his three German Shepherd dogs under control in the incident on August 28th. The dogs attacked 41-year-old Amy Demi while she was delivering a letter to Zavarella’s house on Durst Road.
Demi was hospitalized for several days.
District Judge Helen Kistler said in court on Wednesday that there was no evidence that the dogs strayed beyond Zavarella’s premises.
