A judge on Wednesday gave the owner of a downtown Greensburg apartment complex some time to get their elevators up to snuff.
The Tribune-Review reports that the attorneys for the owners of Pershing Square Apartments said that the upgrades they want to do are substantial and will cost them $280,000. The owners, a California-based LLC called “I Choose Not To Run,” came under fire over two code violations, one pertaining to the elevators, the other pertaining to a fire safety and evacuation plan. Judges said that both elevators need to be in service, but only one is and that is suffering overheating because of overuse. Both elevators were up and running in October, and repair crews were hired to upgrade the elevators.
District Judge Chris Flannigan gave the company until July to finish the repairs or replacements.
