There will be some changes in Westmoreland County Transit Authority’s fixed route system this year.
The Tribune Review reports that Authority officials are getting ready to implement suggestions made in a comprehensive study of the system last year. Currently the Authority operates 18 bus routes offering service to Pittsburgh and several communities in the county. There is no Sunday bus service. New routes could take into consideration shopping trends and offer service to the proposed casino at Westmoreland Mall.
The new route system could be in place by this fall.
