A bill that is coming before state government could allow someone to register and vote on the same day.
The bill would allow the potential voter to show up to the polls on election day, present a valid ID, and cast a ballot. The vote would count once information is verified by the Department of State.
Those in favor of the bill say it will make it easier to cast a ballot, and has been proven to increase voter turnout.
