A man from New York has filed a personal injury lawsuit, saying a fireworks incident in Ligonier Township two years ago has left him blinded in one eye.
The Tribune-Review reports that the lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court for Western Pennsylvania against Adam Wagner of Indianapolis. Wagner and the victim, Samuel Breslin of New York state, were at a gathering on Jacob Miller Road in Rector in January of 2017 when a “mortar-style fireworks” hit Breslin in the face. The lawsuit claimed that Wagner bought the fireworks in the state of Indiana and brought them to the gathering, set them up on unstable bases, and he was under the influence of alcohol at the time.
The lawsuit seeks $2 million in damages. The case has been referred to the court’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program.
