Federal employees are returning to work this morning after the end has come to the longest government shutdown in history.
Reports say federal employees missed their second paycheck last week, but at the end of the week, President Trump signed a bill to re-open government for three weeks while negotiations continued over funding for the wall at the southern border of the United States. The government will be in operation for three weeks, ending February 15th.
Government employees were either forced to work without pay or furloughed for 35 days during the shutdown. Back pay should be distributed to government employees by the end of the week.
