The public corruption trial of Westmoreland County Sheriff Jonathan Held may be held off until after the primary election.
The Tribune-Review reports that Sheriff Held has filed an appeal to put the delay in effect. Held is charged with public corruption for ordering sheriff’s department employees to perform campaign chores on the county’s time.
The last trial ended in a mistrial after a juror maintained his position of Held’s innocence. Held’s second trial is set to be held April 1st.
