Areas of Monessen, Charleroi, North Charleroi and Speers are still under boil water advisory because of the possibility of microbial contamination.
The reports from the Charleroi Borough Water Authority says that there was a break in the transmission line on Tuesday that could have allowed some disease-causing organisms to enter the system. The break was repaired yesterday, but the advisory remains in effect until water testing can be done today and tomorrow to determine if the water is safe to drink.
Customers affected are advised to bring water to a rolling boil for one minute before cooling and using it to drink, wash dishes, brush teeth, make ice and prepare food. Water buffaloes have also been set up at the Speers Borough Building, and fire departments in Charleroi, North Charleroi, and the Monessen #1 fire department.
