The parents of a Penn State student killed in a hazing incident were at IUP last night talking about their son and what needs to be done to stop hazing.
Evelyn Piazza and her husband Jim spoke to many students last night about the dangers of hazing by relaying the story of their son Timothy, who died after consuming 18 alcoholic beverages in a 90 minute time span and falling down a flight of stairs as part of a hazing ritual at Penn State’s Beta Theta Pi fraternity. After he fell, no one called for help for Timothy.
The Piazzas have joined forces with other families of hazing victims to push for stricter anti-hazing laws in the country.
