A Mount Pleasant man will face trial on charges of shooting at a State Trooper and two women.
The Tribune-Review reports that Norvelt District Judge Roger Eckels has said there is enough evidence to send Timothy Minerd to trial on charges of aggravated and simple assault, terroristic threats, reckless endangerment, and leaving the scene of an accident. Corporal James McCutcheon of the State Police testified during the preliminary hearing yesterday that he spotted what he thought was a hit-and-run vehicle on Shady Lane and when he got closer, he heard yells and screams from inside a camper.
As McCutcheon backed off, he also instructed two women who arrived at the scene to move away. He said that Minerd then stepped outside and fired three shots at them.
No one was hurt in the shooting. Minerd’s bond was lowered to $100,000 during the hearing.
