PETA, the animal rights organization, is offering $5000 to anyone who can supply information leading to the arrest and conviction of the people who they say impaled a cow with a piece of farm machinery.
State Police originally reported the dead cow was discovered on February 12th, in a field along Matt Shields Road in Hempfield The property owner had contacted the owner of the cow and asked why they were driving a tractor early in the morning. The cow’s owner said he was not driving the tractor, and they went out there to investigate. They found the gate to the field broken in, and the cow was discovered dead.
State Police say two people were involved, but aside from that, the investigation has not developed any solid leads yet.
