
One person died in a house fire in Washington Township on Thursday morning.
Westmoreland County Coroner Kenneth Bacha said that smoke was seen coming from the home on Mamont Drive in Washington Township. The witness called 911 and emergency responders forced their way into the home. They found 74-year-old James R. Indovina in a rear room and they were able to get him out of there.
Deputy coroner John Ackerman pronounced Indovina dead at the scene. The cause and manner of death is pending as an autopsy is being performed by Dr. Cyril Wecht and a toxicology test will also be made.
State Police fire marshals are investigating the fire.
