Greensburg City Council made their decision to fire their longtime Planning Director during an informal meeting of council members, and they plan on a formal vote at their next meeting on Monday.
According to the Tribune-Review, Planning Director Barbara Ciampini had served the city of Greensburg for 35 years. The decision to fire her came during an informal gathering after a recreation advisory board meeting on February 18th. The official firing must take place during a public meeting, per the Pennsylvania Sunshine Act, requiring the vote next Monday.
While at the time, it was announced that further details would be released concerning Ciampini’s firing, officials are now saying that it’s a personnel issue and there would be no further comment.
