A Westmoreland County theater group may be the new holders of a Guinness World Record for the fastest musical ever staged.
The Stage Right! musical team spent Saturday going through everything needed to put together a musical as fast as possible, setting a target time of 14 hours, 30 minutes. At the start of the day, The Musical “Children of Eden” was selected, and the company had until 8:00 to cast, build sets, make costumes, block stage movements, rehearse and put on the musical. Nearly 100 volunteers took part in the show.
The previous record was 15 hours, set by a theater group in England who put on “Annie”. Confirmation is expected to come in in the next one to two weeks.
