Monday night, Greensburg Borough Council retroactively approved firing their longtime planning director, Barbara Ciampini.
The Tribune-Review reports that city council had unanimously voted to fire Ciampini in an informal gathering on February 18th when the mayor and all four members of council were together for an un-related recreation board meeting. But because decisions of this nature must be made during a public meeting per the PA Sunshine Act, the vote to retroactively fire Ciampini was needed last night.
Ciampini has been a part of city government for the past 35 years. None of the council members, nor Mayor Robert Bell talked about why she was fired.
