Another charge of theft was filed against a Derry Township Constable last week.
The Tribune-Review reports that 35-year-old Brian William McDowell is charged now with taking $200 in cash from a neighbor, telling them that it was needed for a shooting competition sponsorship and his insurance. This makes the 23rd victim of these scams and thefts. McDowell is accused in three cases of stealing nearly $12,000 from some of his victims, and trying to get more cash from others. He would claim the money was needed for the competition, claimed there were warrants out for the victim’s arrest, and then say if the money was paid, he would freeze the process.
McDowell was named constable in the November 2015 election.
