The woman who was shot by police in an incident in Greensburg on Wednesday was identified by Westmoreland County Coroner Kenneth Bacha.
In his report, Bacha identified Nina C. Adams of Grant Street as the person shot by police on Wednesday. The Tribune-Review reports that she had fired various shots in the street, hitting some buildings and then went into her home. When police ordered her out, she still had the gun in her hand. When she did not drop the gun, police fired a non-lethal beanbag round at her. She held onto the gun and fired back at officers, who returned fire themselves.
Relatives say that she had mental health issues.
