Four people were arrested and charged with operating a prostitution and human trafficking ring in the Murrysville and Monroeville areas.
44-year-old Hui Xu of Mt. Pleasant, 51-year-old Chang Yu Chen of Monroeville, 47-year-old Huicun Wei of Flushing, New York and 83-year-old Robert Yerick of Delmont all face charges of conspiracy, corrupt organizations, trafficking, prostitution, and dealing in the proceeds of unlawful activities.
State Attorney General Josh Shapiro said in a news release that the operations ran out of Tokyo Massage Parlors in both towns. Witnesses said that the workers were often encouraged to perform sex acts to bring in more money.
A fifth person remains at large.
