A Youngwood man was charged in connection with the robbery and murder of 50-year-old Matthew Genard.
The Tribune-Review reports that 41-year-old Jason Sullenberger claimed he consumed cocaine and 50 stamp bags of heroin just before he was brought in for questioning in connection with Genard’s murder. Defense attorney Michael Dematt wants to have the confession barred from evidence because of his client being incapable of voluntarily giving a statement to police due to his intoxicated state.
Prosecutors say Sullenberger was one of four people who planned to rob Genard when he was stabbed to death in November of 2017.
