The March for Parks fundraiser has gone over the $1 million mark since the start of the campaign 17 years ago.
The Tribune-Review reports that Saturday was the March for Parks at Twin Lakes park in Hempfield and at the Murrysville Community Center, and this year, the funds raised pushed the all-time total for the fundraising effort past $1 million. The money raised by this fundraiser goes directly to the parks to make improvements.
One of the projects that some of the money will be used for includes the construction of a 3.4-mile stretch of The Westmoreland Heritage Trail.
