A stove falling off a pickup truck onto Route 30 lead to the arrest of a man on theft charges.
Police say 40-year-old Gary W. Cawley of Hazelwood was arrested Friday and arraigned on charges of burglary, criminal trespass and theft along with other related crimes. Police say that Cawley took the stove from a vacant home in the Tuscan Hills Housing Plan in North Huntingdon, and they connected it with other appliance thefts in that area.
The stove fell out of the pickup truck and after trying to put it back in the truck, Cawley left the scene without the stove.
Cawley’s preliminary hearing is set for April 10th.
