A Delaware County man who is serving a life prison sentence in Westmoreland County prison pleaded guilty on Monday to assaulting two prison guards.
The Tribune-Review reports that 65-year-old Thomas Vile threw cups of human waste at guards as they tried to extricate him from a cell. Vile was being temporarily housed in the county jail at the time, as he was serving a life sentence for the 1987 murder of his girlfriend Irene Darley-Pierce in Eastern Pennsylvania.
In his hearing, Vile was sentenced to nine to 18 months in prison, but that sentence will run concurrent to his current sentence.
