The gas company that had to plug a gas well at the Beaver Run Reservoir in Washington Township received approval from township supervisors to put another gas well pad near Turack Road.
The Tribune-Review reports CNX Resources of Canonsburg applied for permits for a new well pad on property that’s owned by the county Municipal Authority around the Beaver Run Reservoir. The reservoir is the drinking water source for about 130,000 residents in the area.
CNX was in trouble when another gas well near the reservoir lost pressure in late January, but company officials say it was because of a casting integrity issue about a mile underground.
