A project that will link Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County water treatment plants is approaching completion.
The Tribune-Review reports that the $63 million project will link plants in the northern and southern parts of the authority’s system. Work is starting on the final section of a 48-inch pipe between Jeannette and Adamsburg, with officials saying that water will flow through the pipe in May.
The pipeline will allow a large flow of water through the whole line to prevent service disruptions during leaks or outages.
