
A judge ruled on Thursday that a New Stanton teen accused of killing his mother and younger brother will undergo a competency evaluation to determine if he is fit to stand trial.
The Tribune-Review reports that 17-year-old Jacob Remaley’s attorney claims that his client suffers from mental health issues. Remaley is charged with the shooting deaths of 46-year-old Dana Remaley and his 8-year-old brother Caleb back on November 30th of 2016.
Remaley’s attorney is looking into pleading guilty but mentally ill, as he will be tried as an adult.
