A woman from Derry Township was arrested Thursday, charged with stealing $20,000 from a Derry Township Church.
The Tribune-Review reports that 35-year-old Teri Sauers, the former church treasurer, wrote 17 checks to herself from church accounts between February of 2017 and November of 2018. The thefts were discovered by church officials at that time when they found out they did not have the money to pay for a new boiler. Sauers admitted the thefts to investigators at that point.
A preliminary hearing is set for May 8th.
