Police have said that a rumor about chinchillas on the loose at Monessen park is nothing but a rumor.
The Tribune-Review reports that the rumor spread on social media was that a local breeder set 60 chinchillas loose. After investigating breeder Rhonda Fiffik, they found out the animals never left her control.
Fiffik is considering a lawsuit against those who started the rumor.
