Police in the Arnold area are investigating an attempted child luring that happened on Wednesday.
KDKA-TV reports that this happened around 3:15 PM on Wednesday at a home near Woodmont Avenue and Rankin Street. The suspect had stopped in front of the house, honked their horn several times, and then knocked on the door. The girl asked through the door who it was and the suspect said that her father had sent him to pick her up after school. She ran out through the back door and to the neighbor’s house.
The suspect is described as an older man with a white beard, driving a tan-colored rusty vehicle, and he is sometimes seen wearing a cowboy hat.
Police are increasing patrols in the area and parents of the New Kensington-Arnold school district were also notified.
