A county judge on Friday signed off on a petition that was brought about by the two major political parties in Murrysville that will break up two very large voting districts.
The Tribune-Review reports that both the Newlonsburg and Sardis precincts had very long lines in the 2016 general election and in the 2018 mid-terms. The lines were so long that it actually discouraged some voters from staying in line and voting. Both precincts contain 3600 voters, more than the maximum voter precinct size.
The county deputy elections director says any fixes will have to come after this year’s primary election.
