The attorney for an Allegheny County man charged in connection with two overdose cases is trying to get those cases separated.
The Tribune-Review reports that 30-year-old Demetrius Christmas of Turtle Creek is facing charges of selling drugs to a dealer that eventually went to 21-year-old Paul Lucas of Murrysville and 30-year-old Jeffrey Gettemy of Greensburg. The two died in overdose incidents seven weeks apart.
Christmas’ attorney said that there would be prejudice if both cases would be tried together instead of apart.
Christmas is charged with drug delivery resulting in death and other charges along with co-defendant Jeremy Mason. Christmas’ trial was delayed until later this year.
